How are you this morning?
Each morning the writer, Javier Ludlow, walks by the sea in order to get inspiration. Today however an intense cold wind rips through his neuralgia and dispels all thoughts that are not centred on his state of health. He returns home early and argues with his wife, Belinda (CEO of the Orleans Creative Agency). As a result she refuses to answer the phone that rings at 8.45. The call centre which is offering urgent advice on a potential computer malfunction has never heard so wide a range of curses, and adds Javier’s details to the list of numbers worth calling.

Back to Square One
Although it is situated only a few minutes’ walk from Seven Dials, Clavical Square is another world. True, occasionally the unpredictable frequenters of Mouhdis, and the infamous Never a True Word pub do visit the quirky residents of the Square, and when necessary the Clavical Set will make shopping trips into the Dials, nevertheless they are in many ways set in parallel universes. It is therefore of little initial interest in the Square when Samuel Quinine and his entourage (including Leporello Swinson) return from their momentous time in Wales. The arrival however is about to have a very profound impact.
